North East innovation, from a thought to a finished product.
The North East Innovation Launchpad takes ideas from a thought all the way to a high-quality, market-ready product. Both inventors and investors share in the rewards.
How it will work
Submit an idea
Anyone can submit an invention idea for assessment. We want to bring the best ideas, the ones that might otherwise never see the light, into proper development. If it's a fit, we take it forward through clear phases: proof of concept, refinement, design for manufacture, and production.
We do the difficult part
LMF Design leads the research, engineering and development work, drawing on a trusted network of specialists where needed. Development runs in funded sprints, phase by phase. The inventor stays involved without needing to fund or build it themselves.
Everyone shares the return
When a developed product sells, the inventor shares in the profit. Angel investors backing the programme are intended to receive a net positive return, paid from the profits of the products developed and sold. Returns then help fund the next idea in the queue, so one success builds the next.
For inventors
Have an idea you've never been able to build? We want to hear it. The best ideas that might otherwise never happen are exactly what this programme exists for. Every submission is treated in confidence and assessed on its merits.
For investors
Back British invention and share in the upside. The programme is intended to give investors a net positive return, paid from the profits of the products we develop and sell. Register your interest and we'll be in touch as the Launchpad takes shape.
The North East Innovation Launchpad is in development. Any reference to a return is an intention only, not a guarantee, forecast or promise of any specific return, and your capital would be at risk. Nothing on this page is an offer, invitation or inducement to invest, nor financial advice. Any future investment opportunity will be made available only through the proper regulated channels and appropriate documentation. Registering interest places you under no obligation.
